Movie song
I have some exciting news! The Lord has brought a gifted composer, Rod Stone, into my life. He is writing the music for the “Marching Through Culpeper” movie! And I invite you to listen to one of his songs.
Here’s how it happened. Rick Heeren of Harvest Evangelism visited Culpeper in June of 2005. I met him leaving a restaurant with Dr. Randy Peck, who introduced us. Rick is a businessman anointed to transform communities for Christ. On his next Culpeper visit in August, I gave him a copy of my book as I knew his son was writing screenplays.
Rick was very animated about this since he had just returned from an international Harvest Evangelism meeting in Argentina. While there a pastor prophesied that Rick would make a successful motion picture that would transform many for Christ. Rick felt “Marching Through Culpeper” must be the basis for that movie.
Three year’s later in 2008, Rick’s inspiring book “Marketplace Miracles” was published. In it Rick shares his story and many other motivational how-to accounts of businesses, schools, and communities that have invited God to be at the center and seen miraculous turnarounds. If you want a spiritual shot in the arm, read this book! (click here to order.)
I am humbled to have the “Marching Through Culpeper” movie project featured in Chapter 14: “A Leap of Faith.” It begins, “Most marketplace miracles so far are about businesspeople working within their ‘native’ sphere of influence. But sometimes God takes us out of our comfort zone and into a new career. He often desires to show us something amazing about ourselves that we never knew—and in the process brings about miracles we never could have envisioned. Such was the case with Virginia Morton….”
Carrie Stone of Blaine, Washington was so inspired by Rick’s book that she called him and told him that her husband Rod was meant to write the music for the MTC movie. Wow! Carrie and Rod have joined our weekly MTC prayer calls. Rod jumped right in and I have listened in awe of his talent, creativity and faith. Every song he’s written has been perfect and brought tears to my eyes.
But the one that I feel most captures the essence of the “Marching Through Culpeper” story is called “Samaritan.” This is a train of thought song, background music that depicts what is going on in Aaron Ames’ mind as he watches Constance care for him. You will be listening to a rough cut with Rod singing. Rod does not claim to be the right vocalist and obviously the movie version would be sung by someone with a “northern” accent.
Treat yourself and your imagination—click here to listen. Then I strongly encourage you to post your comments (bottom of the page) on my blog. We need to hear what you think! Nobody understands this story better than you, my readers.
Prayer Power:
Dear Heavenly Father, what a mighty God you are. Thank you for bringing Rick Heeren, Randy Peck, and Carrie and Rod Stone into my life for Your purposes and with Your perfect timing. Each one is a gift from you. Shower Rod with Your creative energy and blessings as he continues to write songs for the movie. May this project bring infinite blessings to him and his family. I pray that the whole world will soon be singing Rod’s songs, including each one reading this message. Bless them to know that You and You alone are the creative force of the Universe, and our plans can only succeed when we surrender them to You. All praise is Yours, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
In the precious name of Jesus, Amen

Virginia,

I pray that your book will be discovered by many more people especially during the trying times we are experiencing now as a Nation.
Thank you for allowing us to be a part of your team.
With love,
Carrie
